Data Scientist at Mosaic Data Science. Mosaic is an analytics consulting firm in the DC-Metro area that uses data science and machine learning to solve business problems in industries ranging from aviation to consumer retail in both public and private sectors.
Prior to Mosaic I was Associate Partner at MACH37, which is a cybersecurity seed fund and accelerator in the DC area. I was one of four founding team members involved in every aspect of day-to-day operations – from investment decision, execution, and portfolio management through event logistics and marketing.
In the two and half years I was there, we invested $1.5M of first round seed money in 29 cybersecurity startups, and had a follow on funding rate between 50% and 70%. I also initiated MACH37’s Mentor Network program and grew it to over 220 CXOs, founders, operators, and investors in 2 years.
Prior to MACH37, I worked with an active DC area angel investor performing research and diligence. I also worked briefly in a partner development role at a venture-funded consumer data privacy startup in DC, called Personal.
Prior to that, I was an infantry officer in the army where at age 24 I was in charge of 40 Americans and Koreans carrying loaded weapons, and then second in command of 100 Americans and Koreans carrying loaded weapons.
I lived in Korea for 3 years, China for 1 year, and have traveled to many other parts of the world.
In my free time I do MMA, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I occasionally compete, but mostly just spar. I also enjoy climbing and endurance sports. Hanging out at the pool, reading, and Netflix are frequent family activities.
